Kurinuki Carved Clay Vessels Workshop Friday April 17th 10-12pm

£45.00

Come and absorb yourself in this mindful clay carving class.

From blocks of clay you will carve and shape and create a vessel or two. You can incorporate handles, lids or feet.

You can use coloured slips or leave them in the colour of the clay. I will fire them, add transparent glaze them and fire them again.

Kurinuki is a traditional Japanese technique of carving clay blocks to create tea bowls called Yunomi and Gaiwan which are lidded bowls

STUDIO NOTES. PLEASE READ.

Workshops take place in my studio in my house in Saffron Walden which is a very pretty market town in North West Essex.

The street I live in is residents parking only but there are several car parks nearby as I am right in the town centre.

I have three dogs who will probably want to say hello and then go and mind their own business.

Please bring an apron.

Classes may run over time.

Please bring a drink with you. I do occasionally manage to make a cup of coffee but no food is allowed in the studio.
